Wimpole Street is a street in Marylebone, central London. Located in the City of Westminster, it is associated with private medical practice and medical associations. No. 1 Wimpole Street is an example of Edwardian baroque architecture, completed in 1912 by architect John Belcher as the home of the Royal Society of Medicine. 64 Wimpole Street is the headquarters of the British Dental Association.
Williams Restoration undertook the restoration of the Wimpole Street, front facade. This included a full restoration and conservation of the Stucco render, including Ashlar Lines, and replacement of this with breathable Lime mortars. Works included repairs and re-running to hood moulds and cornices, the repair and conservation of the corbel brackets and window cills and a complete overhaul to the existing ‘Rusticated Render’ on the ground floor, this included the reinstatement of the Rusticated Lines as you see today using traditional methods. Williams Restoration also undertook the restoration to the iron works and a decoration of the facade using breathable KEIM paints.
