DESCRIPTION OF WORKS | Our relationship with the client at Cuckfield Park began in 2016, envolving into an ongoing restoration programme that has included various tasks aiming to preserve the building's historical integrity.
Cuckfield Park house carries profound cultural significance which dates back to 1574, and our work aims to strengthen its unique character back to its original form.
Over the past eight years this phased programme of works has included, ThermaTech steam cleaning of masonry, repairs to debonded stucco restoration which were recommended by our team based on the results of a hammer test. These repairs focused on preserving, rather than removing the building's original materials. A carefully matched coloured lime wash was then applied to restore the building's original finish.
In addition, we have carried out work on the windows across various elevations, utilizing our expertise in both Crittall and timber-framed window restoration. For further details, please refer to our services page.
Work has also been undertaken to address fire damage caused to the internal Ionic pillars and timber as well as repairing the external cracking in the masonry where shifted timber exerted pressure on the surrounding stonework. |
