36 Ulverscroft Road

About
Situated in East Dulwich, an area seriously effected by the bombings of WW2. The project at Ulvfrscroft Road was one of unknown quantities. This building had been covered head to toe in a system made popular in the 1920’s. Pebbledash. The cementitious pebbledash was causing issues internally after years of trapping moisture between itself and the original, Lime based, historic fabric of the building.
Scope of Work
Williams Restoration undertook the restoration of the external fabric of building. The first project was to remove the existing cementitious pebbledash from the facade. Once complete we then set out raking back the historic lime mortar where needed. Unfortunately over time due to the cementitious render the Lime mortar had disintegrated quite substantially and in turn, the surrounding brick work. This was then replaced with Lime based, sympathetic and historically matched mortar and finished to match the adjoining dwellings.
