Our Italianate 1850's house had damp problems. A specialist surveyor told us the main problem was moisture being trapped behind defective cement render and the only real fix was to replace this with breathable lime render. We thought this would also be a good opportunity to restore missing decorative features, most of which had been lost when the building was converted into flats in the 1970s.

The Williams Restoration team took on the whole job, from removing the cement render through to re-decoration. There's no avoiding the fact that this type of work is messy and sometimes noisy, but they tried hard to minimise nuisance to ourselves and our neighbours. Where there were choices to be made, Craig discussed the options and their cost implications. Costs were generally kept in line with initial estimates. Some of the decorative work was quite demanding, such as running arches, pilasters, and string courses in situ, to match original features remaining on nearby houses. They did a good job, and the facade now looks very smart and authentic.
